{"id":11275,"date":"2022-04-15T21:45:19","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T21:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acist.com\/?post_type=education_resource&#038;p=11275"},"modified":"2023-10-04T18:05:23","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T18:05:23","slug":"ffr-guided-pci-optimization-directed-by-high-definition-ivus-europcr-2021","status":"publish","type":"education_resource","link":"https:\/\/acist.com\/int\/medical-education\/ffr-guided-pci-optimization-directed-by-high-definition-ivus-europcr-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"FFR-Guided PCI Optimization Directed by High-Definition IVUS &#8211; EuroPCR 2021 (NEW)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Euro PCR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erasmusmc.nl\/en\/research\/researchers\/daemen-joost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Joost Daemen<\/a>, an international cardiologist at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erasmusmc.nl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erasmus University Medical Center<\/a>, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, discusses the concept of post <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1177\/1526602815620780?journalCode=jeta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PCI FFR<\/a> guided by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hmpgloballearningnetwork.com\/site\/jic\/articles\/intravascular-ultrasound-imaging-versus-digital-subtraction-angiography-patients-peripheral-vascular-disease\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IVUS<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/acist.com\/products\/acist-hdi-hd-ivus-imaging\/\">. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By using IVUS to assess post-PCI results we were able to optimize the procedure in 80% of the cases. By adding either additional stents, in 30% of the cases, or doing additional optimization of the previously implanted stent in 1\/3 patients\u201d \u2013 Dr. Joost Daeman<\/p>\n<p>In the trial there was only one periprocedural complication which was a minor dissection that was resolved with an additional stent.
